You have to balance the overall cost of the chair and its materials to find something perfect for your needs. Not all chairs are built alike; some are made for specific purposes while others are more versatile.

So, finding the best boat deck chairs can be tricky if you don’t know what to look for. That’s why we put this guide together. Below, you’ll find the top boat deck chairs of all sorts of makes and models. They’ll be made from several different materials.

Features

  • Comfortable folding chair is ideal for boat decks, docks and patios - folds easily to stow away when not in use
  • Durable anodized aluminum frame with composite leg tips to protect deck
  • Injection molded high impact plastic seat base frame and high compression foam padding
  • Heavy-duty 28 oz marine grade vinyl, withstands the effects of sun, heat, rain and soiling under normal conditions
  • Seat dimensions - height: 31", width: 25", depth: 23", seating depth: 16"

This long-lasting product is as comfortable as it is durable and damage-resistant.

Key Features

  • Anodized aluminum frame
  • High compression foam padding
  • Marine-grade vinyl covers

It’s comfortable and durable. It has an anodized aluminum frame, marine-grade vinyl, and high compression foam padding. The marine-grade vinyl is UV-treated and mildew-resistant to prevent it from breaking down after a long time in the sun or a long time being wet. It also has plenty of space in the chair you can relax comfortably for several hours.

The only downside is that these big aluminum tubes make the folding aspect of this chair a little subpar. While it can fold up for better storage, it doesn’t compress the overall size of the chair by that much. Therefore, be sure you have plenty of room to store one or more of these chairs before you finalize the purchase.

Pros

  • Very resistant to damage and wear and tear
  • Nicely comfortable
  • Good seat depth

Cons

  • Doesn’t fold too well

This folding deck chair is an excellent all-around choice that combines the best aspects of quality construction with great foam padding.

Features

  • Folding deck chair is easy to carry and folds up for compact storage
  • White UV-resistant marine vinyl covered padding in the seat, back, and armrests
  • 1 inch anodized aluminum tubing is lightweight
  • Open-position locking device for safe deployment
  • Easy to clean with soap and water

The Seachoice is easy to store and easy to relax in for long stretches of time.

Key Features

  • Anodized aluminum tubing
  • Support up to 300 pounds
  • UV-resistant Marine vinyl padding

It has foam padding on its armrests and bottom to keep things comfortable, plus a vinyl cover that is UV-resistant so that it doesn’t break down under heavy sunlight. It’s extremely easy to clean with soap and water and is also a lot more foldable than the last heavy-duty chair we looked at. It compresses its size much more for easy storage while still being capable of holding up to 300 pounds.

It’s an excellent all-around chair that’s a good choice if you want something durable and comfortable but doesn’t have a lot of storage space to fit multiple chairs inside. Take care with the rubber feet that normally prevent the chair from slipping; these sometimes fall off, especially if they become wet after months at sea.

Pros

  • Easier to store than the last pick
  • Very durable
  • Fairly comfortable

Cons

  • Rubber feet sometimes come off

This folding deck chair an ideal choice for those with lower amounts of storage space on their boat.

  • Rounded armrests
  • Anti-skid leg tips

This set of two folding deck chairs is extremely durable and comfortable. Note the rounded wooden armrests that combined with the navy color of the fabric keep things classy and stylish. While these chairs look excellent, they’re also quite durable and have antiskid tips on their legs to prevent them from marking up the deck of your boat if they slide around.

Be sure that you want both chairs and have the money to spare, however, as this is one of the more expensive folding deck chair choices you can make. Still, the overall high-quality helps us recommend these deck chairs for any sailor who wants the best of the best and who needs more than one for themselves and their crewmate.

Key Features

  • Aluminum frame
  • UV and mildew treated marine-grade vinyl
  • Plastic injection for durability

It has extremely durable aluminum framing with a high-impact plastic injection; this helps it retain its shape and durability even after years of use and a lot of shock damage. It’s also super easy to fold up, so feel free to store this wherever is convenient. The cushioning is covered by damage resistant vinyl.

But while it certainly built to last for a long time, it’s not the most cushion or comfortable deck chair we’ve looked at so far. It’s ideal for setting up near a duty station or if you are only going to sit in short stretches. Otherwise, you might become a little sore if you sit in it for too long.

Pros

  • One of the strongest chairs you’ll find
  • Easy to fold up
  • Has anti-skid leg tips

Cons

  • Not super comfortable

Pick this boat deck chair up if you need one that can go back and forth between storage with relative ease.

  • Recacril Fabrics are washable and easy to clean. New color replacement fabrics can be supplied! Spares for all worn parts available, making your chairs always look like new.

This boat deck chair has been manufactured with superior quality and has some of the best materials we’ve seen.

Key Features

  • Navy blue
  • Anodized aluminum frame
  • Fabric is resistant to mold and humidity
  • Comfortable curved armrests

It’s only a single instead of a set of two, but it’s just as well made as to the set we looked at earlier. It has the same mold and humidity-resistant fabric that we pointed out before, plus aluminum alloy tubes that have been specially anodized to effectively resist rust damage. The armrests are made of real wood and have been beautifully curved to keep them comfortable and stylish.

There’s also a set of antiskid smooth leg tips to prevent it from scratching your boat deck. The only downside is its relative lack of flexibility. While it can fold up to some extent, it’s quite a big chair so make sure you have enough room to store it before you decide on this piece for certain.

Pros

  • Doesn’t scratch the deck of your boat
  • Really comfortable to sit in for a long time
  • Super durable

Cons

  • Big and bulky, even though it folds

This boat deck chair looks good to the eye and feels good to the body; pick this up if you want a chair that performs as well as it appears.

Features

  • This Marine Chairs beautifully sewn cushions and arm rests are constructed from HDPE substrates, to resist rot and war page, covered in marine-grade vinyl.
  • Stainless Steel Frame 1" tube;Plastic Injected Molded Seat Frames
  • Upgrade to a stainless steel deck chair from aluminum ● High quality at an affordable price
  • Compliance and passed ergonomic standard test. White marine-grade Vinyl Folding Deck Chair
  • Height: 30" Width: 26" Depth: 24" Seat Depth: 15.75"

The SeaLux is one of the smallest and lightest we reviewed, but it comes at a high cost.

Key Features

  • Stainless steel frame
  • Sewn cushions and armrests
  • Marine-grade vinyl

This boat deck chair is made with sewn cushions and armrests that are specifically treated to resist rot from the wet and windy conditions at sea. The cushions are covered in marine-grade vinyl and complement the stainless steel frame.

Stainless steel is a great material for a chair frame since it is hypoallergenic and resists rust damage just as well as anodized aluminum. This chair is also super easy to store thanks to its small size and light weight.

But despite its easy portability and store ability, this chair does have a few downsides. It mostly suffers from a small cushion that prevented it from being comfortable for long stretches of relaxation or longer duty shifts. But it’s also one of the more expensive chairs we’ve reviewed so far.

It easily tops the list even though it’s only one chair instead of the more expensive sets of two we checked out before. Therefore, we’d only recommend getting this boat deck chair if you have a little extra cash to spend and need something specifically sized this way for storing purposes.

Pros

  • Easy to fold and store
  • Very nice rust resistance
  • Lightweight
  • Doesn’t slip on wet decks

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Not super comfortable for long stretches

This boat deck chair is a good choice if you want something high quality and don’t mind the higher price.

They’re lightweight and easy to move and carry, plus they are made of durable aluminum frames. Otherwise, you might find that you can only remain in these chairs for a couple of hours max.

Pros

  • Very easy to adjust reclining posture

Cons

Bottom Line

Overall, the right boat deck chair for your needs depends on what you use the boat for. Do you spend a lot of time at sea, fishing, or performing manual labor? You’ll probably want something heavy-duty and with materials that don’t accumulate rust or mold damage very easily.

But maybe your boat is mostly used for family gatherings or parties. In this case, you’ll want boat chairs with lots of cushioning and maximum reclining options. You can find examples of both types of chairs and much more above.
